5 Years!

Today is Will and my 5th year wedding anniversary....wow time has certainly flown by! It is weird to me to think that 5 years ago today I was getting ready to marry my best friend. SO much has happened to us since we have gotten married...we have moved twice, gotten new jobs, began our Ph.D programs... only GOD knows what the next 5 years will bring for us. But I know I can handle anything that may come my way with Will by my side.

I was thinking the other day about how our relationship has changed and grown over the past five years. For anyone that does not know our "story" of how we got together. We met in graduate school, it was my first day of graduate school at Auburn. We had two classes together, and the first time I laid eyes on him, I was instantly attracted. Over time we became casual friends, who would work on projects together. That turned into better friends who hung out after class and on the weekends. The CRAZY thing was that he and I both were dating other people when we met, but neither one of us told the other about our girlfriend/boyfriend until we had literally been friends for 6 months. By the end of our Masters program, I was 100% head over heels with him, but I had not told him yet. We were BEST friends, we did everything together! Finally, I got up the nerve to tell him, we were at another grad school friends wedding (Emily and Jake Gross) and after the wedding we went out in Atlanta. After a few drinks of liquid courage (Miller Light!), I told him. And he felt the same way. We have been together ever since.

I could not imagine my life without him, he is my best friend, my confidant, my biggest cheerleader. I can not wait to start a family with him (which we should be starting pretty soon...he will be done with his Ph.D in about a year). Who knows what the next five years will bring for us...but one thing is for sure, I will be able to conquer anything with Will by my side.
