My Family Visits Oregon!

Last friday my mom, dad and baby sister came to Oregon for their first visit to our new home!  For my sister this was her second trip to Oregon (she drove with us cross country), for my dad this was like his 20th trip to Oregon, and for my mom this was her FIRST trip!  They got in very late on Friday night and were exhausted on Saturday so we laid low and hung around Eugene. We took them to the Saturday market and to the Wild Duck Cafe  to watch the Tide BEAT DOWN the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship. We then swung by the Farkas' house to introduce my parents to our sweet friends.  That night we celebrated our first annual Thanksmas.

Sunday we woke up early and headed to the coast!  It had always been my father's dream to visit the Oregon coast. The weather that day was cold, windy and rainy.  We visited the Heceta Lighthouse , and climbed up to the lighthouse...it was NASTY and cold, but so beautiful! We then headed over to Florence, a little seaside town, for lunch. After which we headed to Sweet Cheeks Winery  for an afternoon wine tasting.

Monday, Will had to go back to work, so my family and I headed to the mountains. We ended up stopping for a little hike at the Sahalie Waterfalls on the way so we didnt make it all the way to Bend. But settled on Sisters, OR. Sisters is a precious little town in the mountains. There are tons of little shops and restaurants.  We had a wonderful day!

Tuesday we decided to hang around Eugene. I took them to campus for a mini campus tour, and Will showed them his new building and office (which he is moving into tomorrow!).  We then did a little shopping before heading out for a farewell dinner at the local mexican restaurant!

I had a wonderful time and I CAN NOT wait for them to come back and visit next summer! Here are some pictures from the trip!
